As some might be aware, I've been very busy over the last few months studying for a qualification in Proofreading and Editing with The College of Media and Publishing.
I am happy to say that I have now completed those qualifications, passing with a "Distinction".
So, what's next?
Well, now I need to put those qualifications to good use. I have been trained in proofreading and editing various documents including academic papers, newspapers/magazines, reports, technical papers, brochures, letters, leaflets, online publications (webpages, emails, blogs, etc), and of course, books (fiction and non-fiction). I have also covered the less glamorous aspects of copyright law, and other legal aspects of what can, and cannot, be published. I've learnt about the intricacies of formatting and many other things that you wouldn't automatically think were a part of proofreading and editing.
Now, I have to design my own website, join some freelance websites/agencies and advertise my services.
Watch this space for further updates once I am up-and-running.
