The Rubicon

A Gripping Crime Novel

The quiet of the night is shattered as a police officer is brutally attacked on the streets of Barrington.

Adam Greenwood watches from his bedroom window as the assault unfolds before him.

He faces a moral dilemma: Should he intervene to save the constable - risking personal injury, or worse - or should he simply turn a blind eye? For Adam, the answer is straightforward. As a former police officer, he is duty-bound to assist. However, unbeknown to him, his actions are to initiate a sequence of events that will ultimately threaten the lives of his entire family.

It is often said that there is a fine line between those that enforce the law and those that frequent the criminal underworld. As events escalate, as boundaries become blurred, how will Adam react? Will he trust the legal system to protect his loved ones or will he be forced into doing something that goes totally against his nature?

Follow Adam’s journey, feel his pain, and discover which side of The Rubicon he chooses to walk.

From the author of “Reflex Action,” this is the second in The Crime Collection series of books.

What Do Readers Think?

“This is the second detective novel by Andrew Heasman that I have read and it was a gripping, excellent read. I was kept in suspense not really knowing if the story line was going to end the way I hoped.
Highly recommend this author.”

Fantastic book! Read it on a sunny afternoon and loved it! Well written and gripping! Thank you Andrew!

“I read this book in the same week as Reflex Action (Andrew's first crime fiction offering).
It was a sunny day and I started at about 1500 hrs and had finished it by 2000 hrs practically being forced to come in for tea...
The characters are well written and believable. I really felt for the protagonist and what he had gone through. In the latter part of the book, when Adam's plan is being carried out and you can see him getting in deeper and deeper, you still find yourself cheering him on.
Even when he does finally 'cross the Rubicon' you are still cheering him on!
Really look forward to the next one Andrew!”
